Amazing Trilogy of Time Limited Edition Collection by Ulysses Nardin

When Ulysse Nardin presented the first Trilogy of Time collection, the horological world was stunned the at that time, in 1980`s. As a tribute to three famous figures in the world of astronomy, the collection reunited three extraordinary watches: Astrolabium Galileo Galilei, Planetarium Copernicus and Tellurium Johannes Kepler.

Galileo Galilei, Nicolaus Copernicus and Johannes Kepler had a great contribution for the development of astronomy. Due to their accomplishments and to the collection`s success, Ulysse Nardin releases a new Trilogy of Time limited edition collection. The three astronomical watches are available only as a complete set and their production is limited to 100 platinum pieces.

The new Astrolabium Galileo Galilei watch features a fascinating dial which renders a planisphere for different latitudes. The Astrolabe was built by ancient astronomers and was used to measure the altitude and direction of celestial bodies over the horizon, but it can also foretell eclipses, calculate seasons or zodiac movements.

Having a complex structure, the Astrolabe indicates the positions of starts and moon as they can be seen from the Earth, while also offering information on moon-phases, sunrise and sunset, seasons, zodiac and eclipses. Along with the regular indications of minutes and hours, all these amazing functions are made possible by Caliber UN-99, a self-winding perpetual movement.

With a 41 mm platinum case, the new Astrolabium Galileo Galilei has 30-meter water-resistance. The case features sapphire crystals on both sides. The aspect is completed with a matching leather strap.

The new Planetarium Copernicus watch is embellished with a beautiful dial which reveals Ptolemy`s geocentric universe having the Earth as its center, and Copernicus` heliocentric universe having the Sun as its center. This watch gives the user the possibility to read off the astronomical positions of the planets towards the Earth and the Sun.

A perpetual calendar is also revealed by the display, indicating the months and zodiacal signs. One complete revolution lasts 365.24 days.

The Caliber UN-83, a self-winding perpetual movement, is the one that brings these features to life. The 41 mm platinum case can resist up to 30 meters in water. The case of the new Planetarium Copernicus watch is complimented with sapphire crystals on both sides and with a leather strap.

Last but not least, the new Tellurium Johannes Kepler watch has an inspiring dial that represents the Earth rotating on its actual geographical shape, as seen above the North Pole. A flexible spring over the Tropics shows the part of the planet lit by the Sun, while indicating the place and time of both sunrise and sunset.

On the new Tellurium Johannes Kepler, a dragon hand indicates the eclipses of the Sun and the Moon. The display incorporates a perpetual calendar that completes a revolution movement each year. Besides the regular 24-indicator, these functions are powered by the Caliber UN-88, also a self-winding perpetual movement. Revealing top and bottom sapphire crystals, the 43 mm platinum case is 30-meter water-resistant. The timepiece has a leather strap.

The new watches of the Ulysse Nardin Trilogy of Time Limited Edition Collection will undoubtedly show their wearers the beauty, mystery and intricacy of the Universe we are living in.
