IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph

The prestigious IWC (International Watch Co) Schaffhausen was created in 1868 by a visionary American entrepreneur, Florentine Ariosto Jones who combined his experience as a skilled engineer and master watchmaker and initiated a long heirloom of master watchmakers dedicated to creating high-quality timepieces defined by unmatched precision and timeless distinction and beauty. Headquartered in eastern Switzerland, IWC always strived to excel, to elevate its standards, and to surprise its demanding clientele with outstanding wristwatches, manufactured according to its own highly personal philosophy and life-guiding principles.

In order to pay a great tribute to one of its historical models, the legendary IWC Yatchclub produced during the 60’s and 70’s, the brand released a modern version of the model that carries the legacy of the initial IWC Yatchclub Watch- the new IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph. A beautiful sporty timepiece, the watch emanates dynamism and masculinity; it features an oversized 45.5 mm case, which is available in either stainless steel or 18-karat red gold. The zest of the watch is a flyback function that enables the watch’s owner to restart the chronograph quickly and to track accurately small time intervals.

The eye-catching IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph features an ingenious time display. Replacing the traditional 30-minute chronograph counter with a 12-hour chronograph the watch gains a cleaner-looking dial. The upper chronograph counter is fitted with two hands; while the chronograph is not in use one of the hand leys underneath the other, unseen therefore enabling the same sub-dial to indicate the hours and to track the minutes at the same time. Another upgrade compared to the traditional IWC Portuguese models is the presence of the date, located in a small aperture at 3 o’clock.

As for the dial, the timepiece wonderfully merges sporty highly functional features with extremely stylish finish touches. Manufactured in three remarkable variations, the model features applied Arabic numerals hour markers and classically looking hour hands.

At the heart of the IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph beats the in-house IWC caliber 89360 automatic movement that oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and confers a power reserve of 68 hours; moreover, an inquiring eye can admire the delicate finish of this superb movement through the watch’s exhibition case back.

Designed for a venturous, charismatic, contemporary man, IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph was manufactured in three variations, two in stainless steel and a more precious 18-karat rose gold model all coupled with comfortable sporty black rubber straps.

The steel models are available in either white or slate colored dial, while the rose gold is available matched only with slate dial. The watch is remarkable through the impeccable well-thought finish touches, which confer it a classy, distinguished appearance. Moreover, IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph will be available for a price ranging between $12,600.00 (steel models) up to $23,100.00 for the rose gold variations.
