Rating: 7.5/10 (4 votes cast)

Known as both a prestigious luxury goods manufacturer and master watch-making company, Chopard was created in the second half of the 19th century, in the Swiss Jura Mountains, by a visionary entrepreneur Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Ever since, the brand never ceased to improve its models and to bring to the market amazing timepieces, characterized by superb design and unmatched timekeeping accuracy and functionality.

Although, the brand dedicated a lot of time and energy to masterfully link the jeweler’s art with the fine watch-making skill, in order to provide the most sophisticated jewelry-watches especially designed for the audacious women of our time. Chopard also experienced a privileged partnership with the adrenalin-inflicting world of motor sports, and created countless watches inspired by the sporty design of racecars.

In order to pay a great tribute to the special connection between the watch-making powerhouse and the renowned Formula 1 competition, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, initiated back in 2002, Chopard released another superb addition to its iconic Grand Prix de Monaco Historique collection.

Drawing its inspiration from the distinguished design and powerful elegance of the 70s, the new Chopard creation, the exquisite new Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Time Attack MF, masterfully combines the charismatic individuality and classy refinement of a traditional chronograph model with the modern appeal of a digital watch.

The watch features a sturdy masculine case, measuring 42.5 mm in diameter, available either in stainless steel or in more precious 18-karat rose gold, which incorporates a crown, decorated with racing wheel motif and chronograph push pieces, performed in the same material. Furthermore, the watch’s case is fitted with the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique inscription and it confers a good water tightness of 50 meters.

The remarkable timepiece is animated by a high precision, COSC-certified Swiss made’ quartz movement, which confers the advantage of an approximate 60 months power reserve and a wide range of functions: central seconds, minutes and hours date, countdown function, second time zone, two alarms- for both time zones, and a 100th of a second chronograph, and tachymeter.

The watch features a stylish black dial fitted with luminescent-coated hour and minute hands and hour markers, for optimal time legibility in poor light conditions. Furthermore, the watch features an individualizing orange second’s hand, and a digital display, located at 6 o’clock position, which provides a wide variety of functions coordinated by two pushbuttons.

The sophisticated timepiece also features a glare-proof sapphire crystal and it embraces the wrist with stylish perforated black Barenia leather strap, a sporty rubber strap with 1960s Dunlop Racing tire-tread motif, or a more masculine bracelet. As for the price tag of the watch, we can only assume that it will probably be under that of a mechanical timepiece manufactured by the same brand.
