Tissot Visodate 1957 Watch

       A family company, Tissot was created by an experienced watchmaker, Charles-Felicien Tissot and his enthusiast young son Charles-Emile Tissot, who, in 1853 initiated a long heirloom of master watchmakers dedicated to creating wristwatches defined by superb aesthetics and remarkable timekeeping accuracy.

       The watch-making brand is headquartered in Neuchâtel in the Swiss Jura Mountains, in a place known as the cradle of the Haute Horology, and always strived to provide innovative timepieces characterized by supreme elegance and immaculate functionality.


       Recently in order to bring a great homage to one of the most emblematic models ever created by Tissot, the iconic Visodate watch, launched in 1953, the year when Tissot celebrated its centennial anniversary, a classy model animated by a self-winding movement, which conquered the hearts of many of the brand’s enthusiast customers. The 1953 timepiece integrated into the architecture of the movement, a date-complication, a giant step forward in the Tissot history. The updated interpretation of the legendary Visodate watch, first introduced at Baselworld 2010, draws its inspiration from the past but it is, at the same time, innovative and modern.


       The watch features a stylish round case, measuring 40 mm in diameter, which demonstrates a nice satin polished surface, and comes manufactured from stainless steel of a stainless steel variation fitted with an interesting warm yellow PVD-Gilt coating; moreover, the vintage classy model incorporates an exhibition case-back, allowing a curious eye to admire the delicate dance of the watch’s movement. The clean architecture of the case incorporates a scratchproof sapphire crystal and ensures a water resistance of 30 meters beneath the water’s surface.

       Created for a charismatic gentleman of the 21st century, the timepiece comes coupled with a black or silver stylish dial fitted with faceted hour and minutes hands and applied hour indices manufactured from the same metal as the case. Just like the original Visodate watch, the 2010 timepiece also features, a date function displayed through a large window located at 3 o’clock position.
