Oris Oscar Peterson Limited Edition

A Swiss prestigious watch-making powerhouse, Oris carries on over one century of tradition in the fine art of creating outstanding wristwatches of immaculate mechanical purity, precision, sophistication and distinguished aesthetics.

Through the years, the brand remained fateful to its life-guiding principles and philosophy dedicated to uncompromising innovation, bold creativity and watch-making mastery, creating countless timepieces highly appreciated by the watch experts and by the brand’s demanding clientele worldwide.

Recently the brand created another superb timepiece, which pays a great tribute to one of the most famous jazz legends of our time, Oscar Peterson, a master pianist and composer, also known as the Maharaja of the keyboard. The remarkable stylish wristwatch, inspired by the fascinating universe of jazz, is characterized by supreme elegance and refinement, being suitable for a dressy occasion; it will be revealed at Baselworld 2010 and its production will be limited to only 1,925 pieces, the number symbolizing the musician’s year of birth.

The superb timepiece features an elegant stainless steel case, measuring 42 mm in diameter, which demonstrates a nice combination of brushed and polished surfaces that enhance the sophisticated refinement of the timepiece. The case’s architecture incorporates a convex sapphire crystal, with anti-glare treatment on both sides, and provides a remarkable 100-meters water resistance.

Inspired by the classy aesthetics of Peterson’s favorite musical instrument- the piano, the new Oris Oscar Peterson Limited Edition Watch, features a stylish black grooved dial fitted with piano key-shaped hour markers. Moreover, the dial resembles a vinyl record, and, above the 6 o’clock position, it features the musician’s signature accented in white. The timepiece is also fitted with stainless steel Roman numeral hour markers, and as an individualizing accent, we have to mention the “VIII” Roman numeral, plated in 18-karat pink gold, symbolizing the number of Grammys awarded to the artist in the course of his career. The hours, minutes and seconds are indicated by nickel hands, fitted with luminescent treatment for optimal time-legibility in poor light conditions. The watch also features a small date aperture located at 6 o’clock position.

At the heart of this beautiful timepiece beats a high-precision automatic movement, which ensures central hours, minutes, seconds and date functions.

The new Oris Oscar Peterson watch features a personalized case-back, revealing an engraved lion and the watch’s serial number, and it comes coupled with a stylish black calfskin leather strap, with crocodile pattern, all for an approximate price ranging from $900.00 up to $1,800.00.
