Luminox EVO SR-71 Blackbird Series 9070

Created in 1989 by Barry Cohen, Luminox is an American watch-making company specialized in producing extremely reliable timepieces for the US Navy SEALs or other military groups, but they also produce high-quality wristwatches available for the public.

The brand’s success story starts with a visionary entrepreneur, who understood that in the watch making industry the key of success is either belonging to a Swiss prestigious heirloom of watchmakers or providing the ultimate technological innovations coupled with exceptional quality.

Luminox watches are internationally known for using a highly innovative, Swiss patented system- the Luminox Light Technology, which embeds in the watch’s components traditionally treated with luminescent substances (hour hands, hour markers, etc.), tiny glass tubes filled with gaseous tritium which chemically reacts with phosphor, creating an independent light source. Luminox Light Technology doesn’t require prior exposure to sunlight or charging batteries while it provides a light source up to 100 times more intense that of an average luminescent timepiece for a guaranteed 25 years period.

Widely known for its privileged partnership with the US army, Luminox introduced a brand new watch line with powerful military-inspired design – Luminox Blackbird 9000s, a robust collection which pays a great tribute to the legendary SR-71 Blackbird jet retired in the 90s by the US Air Force and just as all the brand’s timepieces a watch suited to be used in different situations which involve partial or complete absence of light.

Revealed at Baselworld, the charismatic EVO SR-71 Blackbird series 9070 watch will be manufactured in a pretty exclusivist edition of only 500 wristwatches.

This remarkable timepiece successfully reflects the latest oversized sports-watches trends; it features a powerful 44 mm case, manufactured from PVD-coated stainless steel, and completed by a bracelet manufactured from the same material. The highly masculine case catches the eye through its original shape inspired by the aerodynamic shape of the SR-71 Blackbird jet. The watch is also suitable for diving, as it beasts an amazing 100 meters water-resistance, and features an inner rotating bezel.

At the heart of the EVO SR-71 Blackbird series 9070, beats the accurate Swiss Valjoux 7750 automatic mechanical chronograph movement with unidirectional winding, which ensures 42 hours power reserve- defined by sporty style and superb functionality, the watch will surely be a public attraction accompanied by a price around $1,000.00.
