Jaquet Droz Only Watch ’09

One of the most famous watch making powerhouses in the world, Jaquet-Droz traces its roots back to the Age of Enlightenment when a visionary watchmaker, Pierre Jaquet-Droz, entered in the history of fine watch making for creating astonishing wristwatches and for bringing to life, the fascinating mechanical dolls called automata in order to popularize its horological creations.

He set in a quest of cultivating the spirit of innovation, reform and excellence, and he initiated a long heirloom of master watchmakers dedicated to creating genuine masterpieces of watch-making mastery destined to serve as timekeeping companions to kings, queens and emperors.

Through the years, the brand never ceased to create outstanding timepieces of an immeasurable value, timeless refinement and elegance that have always fascinated the watch-connoisseurs worldwide, and in 2009, Jaquet Droz presented another unique creation at the Only Watch 2009 charity auction. The remarkable model features a powerfully designed white ceramic case measuring 44 mm in diameter, which makes a superb contrast against the eye-catching red enamel dial and it provides 30 meters water-resistance.

The sophisticated dial of the watch features off-centered time display- the hours and minutes counter located at 12 o’clock along with the large seconds sub-dial positioned at 6 o’clock confer the timepiece an optimal time-legibility.

It is important to note that the exquisite color of the dial was obtained through a very meticulous firing technique after applying 10 successive enamel layers, fired at 800°C. Jaquet Droz CEO, Manuel Emch declared that the in order to stabilize the perfect enamel red hue, the brand’s watchmakers worked with dedication for about six years.

At the heart of this amazing timepiece beats the in-house 2663 caliber automatic mechanical movement, a wonderfully embellished, high-precision movement fitted with 30 jewels, that oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour conferring the advantage of 68-hours power reserve.

The unique Jaquet Droz Only Watch 2009 charity auction comes coupled with a stylish natural white rubber strap, surely, this timepiece will be the dream of every impassionate watch-connoisseur, but unfortunately, it will remain just a beautiful dream because it is unique in the world and it will have just one very lucky owner.
