Hublot Big Bang for Diego Maradona

      Hublot is a well-known watch-making brand, best known in the exclusive industry of fine watch making, and among enthusiast watch connoisseurs for, boldly combining in its timepieces, materials that otherwise would have seemed inconceivably incompatible such as precious diamonds or gold and sporty vividly colored rubber.

      The Swiss brand, headquartered in Nyon, emerged in the 80’s, and it was created by a visionary entrepreneur, Carlo Crocco. In its rather short existence, Hublot never altered its audacious personality and creative freedom, and always tried to introduce innovative new complications and limited editions, which targeted a large audience.

      Recently, the famous Argentine footballer Diego Maradona became the spokesperson of this youthful dynamic brand. Currently the coach of Argentina’s national team, the best football player of the 20th century, started his partnership with the elitist world of the Haute Horology due to a profound passion for exceptional timepieces. Nevertheless, Diego Maradona was welcomed into the Hublot family with a new sporty timepiece create in his honor, the remarkable Hublot Big Bang Maradona watch.

      A robust masculine timepiece, the watch features a 44.5 mm case, manufactured from high-tech microblasted black ceramic, fitted with a sporty black bezel, manufactured from the same material and secured to the case with the brand’s iconic 6 H-shaped titanium screws, fitted with black PVD coating. The watch also features chronograph push pieces and winding crown rendered in black PVD-coated stainless steel with individualizing rubber inserts. The sophisticate architecture of the case also incorporates lateral composite resin inserts, an anti-glare treated sapphire crystal, it boasts 100-meters water-resistance and the watch’s case-back is personalized with the footballer’s image and the serial number of the limited edition of 250 timepieces.

      The dark silhouette of the case makes a nice contrast against the watch’s black dial, individualized with, Argentine blue applied hour markers, fitted with white luminescent coating. The black dial features a 45-minute chronograph counter, used to keep accurate track of the half intervals of a match, located at 9 o’clock, the player’s lucky 10, located at 3 o’clock, a small date aperture is placed at 6 o’clock beneath Maradona’ signature also performed in blue. The watch features faceted nickel hands also treated with luminescent substances for optimal time-legibility.

      At the heart of this football-inspired timepiece beats the in-house self-winding chronograph movement – the Caliber HUB1146 an outstanding movement with 55 jewels and remarkable high-end finish, which confers the advantage of a 42-hour power reserve.
