Glashütte Senator Sixties Square Chronograph

A prestigious member of the Swatch Group, ever since the last decades of the 20th century, Glashütte Original is a German watch-making powerhouse, internationally known for creating refined timepieces of immaculate functionality, exceptional aesthetics and quality.

Glashütte Original always created timepieces according the German traditional methods which date back a few centuries ago, and which pay great respect to the watchmaker’s skill and expertise and also combine ground-braking technologies and modern artistic expression in order to provide the brand’s enthusiast customers with the epitome of Saxon Haute Horology.

First introduced at Baselworld 2009, the new Senator Sixties Square Chronograph is a master creation of the Saxon watchmaker defined by powerful retro design touches, which draw their inspiration back in the 1960’s when both fashion and art were powerfully influenced by geometrical shapes.

The timepiece is an ingenious combination of mechanical sophistication and high-class refinement and elegance. The timepiece features a stylish stainless steel case, measuring 42 mm in diameter that has a slightly rounded square shape which emphasizes the brightly polished finish, and catches the viewer’s attention redirecting it towards the curved dial performed either in matte or black silver, furthermore adorned with diamond-cut hour markers and matching Arabic figures. The two variations of the watch are fitted with curved hour hands- the black dial is with silver hands while the silver dial was fitted with 18 karat rose gold hands.

The remarkable Glashütte Original Senator Sixties Square Chronograph features stalk-type chronograph pushers that are other retro details rooted in the design of the chronographs of the sixties. An inquiring eye can discover the wonderfully hand-adorned 39-34 caliber, self-winding movement, that animates this timepiece through a see-through case-back. Demonstrating the iconic features of the Saxon fine horology, the sophisticated movement features a skeleton central rotor manufactured from 21 karat massif gold, for impeccable optimization of the winding motion, and which is moreover adorned with the double-G logo of the brand. The high-frequency and precision movement also provides a 40-hours power-reserve.

The sophisticated Glashütte Original Senator Sixties Square Chronograph is furthermore secured to the wrist with a stylish alligator leather strap, and it comes for a fair price of approximately $6,850.00.
