Girard-Perregaux Laureato Quartz

One of the most prestigious members of the contemporary Swiss watch-making elite, Girard-Perregaux was created in 1791, and, in over two centuries of existence, the brand never ceased to create remarkable timepieces of immaculate precision and bold innovative aesthetics.

At SIHH 2010, the watchmaker impressed both watch-collectors and experts worldwide, by releasing a retro styled, battery animated quartz wristwatch, which pays a great tribute to a period in the watch-making history, started in the late 60s, when were produced the first quartz movements, quartz watches being appreciated as a rare and high-priced item of ultimate technology. Following this trend, Girard-Perregaux launched in the 70s one of the most technically advanced quartz-animated watch collection the world.

After 40 years, the brand released a quartz interpretation of its emblematic sporty Laureato watch, a high-end timepiece animated by the brand’s new in-house quartz movement- GP13500 created with the same passion and attention to the purity of the finest detail that the brand’s watchmakers would pay to a mechanical movement.

The sporty Girard-Perregaux Laureato watch, features a sturdy masculine case, manufactured from stainless steel, which demonstrates an interesting combination of polished and brushed surfaces, the sophisticated architecture of the case incorporates an octagonal bezel and an integrates bracelet characteristic to the Laureato watch line.

Moreover, the watch features a blue dial adorned with grid pattern nicely completed by white luminescent-treated hour hands and hour indices. The sporty appeal of the timepiece is enhanced by vivid red accents in the central second’s hand, the date wheal (displayed through a square aperture located at 3 o’clock) and a 32.768-hertz red marking, which indicates the oscillating frequency of the quartz movement, placed above the 6 o’clock position.

At the heart of this interesting timepiece, beats the extremely accurate quartz GP13500 caliber, guaranteed to function immaculately for about 40 years and which demonstrates the upmost attention to meticulous finishing that can be admired through the watch’s exhibition case-back.

A remarkable timekeeping companion, especially created for an impassionate watch-collector, keen on original, limited editions and on high-end, meticulous finish, the new Girard-Perregaux Laureato quartz watch, was limited to only 40 pieces available for an approximate price of $11,000.00.
