Chopard Mille Miglia 2008 GT XL Chrono

Created in the second half of the 19th century, when it was created by Louis-Ulysse Chopard, Chopard is a Geneva-based prestigious watch-making brand internationally renowned for creating high-class distinguished goods as elegant accessories and jewelry, but also luxury timepieces.

In 1988 the renowned watchmaker initiated a privileged partnership with the prestigious Mille Miglia race, marked with the release of the first Chopard Mille Miglia Chronograph, and after 20 years Chopard celebrates this fruitful intertwining with another horological masterpiece, the new Chopard Mille Miglia 2008 GT XL Chrono, an innovative wristwatch designed for those watch-connoisseurs who merge their passion for fine watch-making with the passion for speed and of classic racers.

The New Chopard Mille Miglia 2008 GT XL Chrono merges race-inspired powerful design features such as the sporty case measuring 44 mm in diameter, sculpted either in stainless steel or 18 karat rose gold, which incorporates screw-locked crown. Moreover, the case’s architecture is defined by sleek sporty lines which highlight the tachometric scale and the incorporated rectangular push pieces. The watch provides 100 meters water resistance, and on its case-back an inquiring eye can discover the engraving of the Mille Miglia racing circuit map.

The watch features an upgraded contemporary silvery dial which displays two oversized Arabic numeral hour markers, the 12 and 6, laminated underneath the sheltering sapphire crystal. The chronograph movement ensures 12-hours counter, located at 6 o’clock, small-seconds display located at 9 o’clock and a 30 minutes counter located at 12 o’clock position. For irreproachable time legibility in poor or no light conditions, the timepiece has hour hands and hour markers fitted with luminescent coating, as an individualizing feature reminding of the Mille Miglia symbolic color the central sweep second hand was highlighted in red. The timepiece features a date aperture located at 3 o’clock position, which was fitted with an incorporated sapphire lens.

At the heart of this watch beats a COSC-chronometer certified mechanical self-winding movement that oscillates at a rate of 28,800 beats per hour, ensuring a 48 hours power reserve, the movement also provides a stop seconds function which allows accurate time setting.

Mille Miglia 2008 GT XL Chrono is furthermore completed either by a comfortable black rubber strap with Dunlop racing tire-tread pattern, for the stainless steel models or a more classy crocodile leather strap for the pink gold versions. The Chopard Mille Miglia 2008 will be available in a limited edition of 2008 stainless steel and 500 rose gold timepieces, accompanied of an approximate price ranging from $6,000.00 up to $10,000.00.
