Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne

Emerged in 1992, Bell & Ross, is relative newcomer in the exclusive world of the Swiss fine watch-making industry, owned by two French designers- Carlos A. Rosillo and Bruno Belamich, and, initially this brand started by creating wristwatches designed for men who must face extreme situations like, bomb-disposal experts, professional divers, pilots and even astronauts, and their watches are built to become valuable tools in their challenging missions.

In 2009, in Colette, a very stylish and prestigious French boutique, located in the world’s capital of fashion, Bell & Ross introduced another outstanding collection, manufactured in a limited edition of only 500 timepieces, which meet the highest standards of quality and sophistication, powerfully designed watches manufactured from very sophisticated materials- the new BR 01 Airborne watches.

Celebrating a very privileged partnership with the French air Forces, the brand enriched its military-inspired watch collection with another charismatic model that pays tribute to the airborne divisions of fighter pilots, whose motto was: Death from Above, and who bravely fought in the first lines of fire in the Second World War in order to defend their country.

A timepiece designed to personify the courageous and noble spirit of the French soldiers, the new Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne also features two opulent, dreadful diamond-embellished reinterpretations of this theme, exclusively sold in the Colette boutique.

Released shortly after the 65th official anniversary of the D-Day Invasion by Allied forces in Normandy, the Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne wristwatch is defined by combative and, some would say childish design and high-performance mechanical sophistication inspired by aeronautical professional instruments.

Basically defined by absolute time-legibility, reliability and timekeeping performance, in the BR 01 Airborne Watches, Bell & Ross’s designers integrated the emblematic skull-logo of the airborne divisions, a symbol both of immeasurable power and extreme vulnerability – the omnipresence of death imminent to a military mission.

The BR 01 Airborne Watch features a robust 316L glass bead blasted steel case, fitted with stealth carbon powder finish, which measures 46 mm in diameter. Furthermore the black dial is fitted with luminescent hands and skull, for perfect time legibility in any light conditions, also the watch features anti-glare coated sapphire crystal, and it can withstand up to 100 meters beneath the sea surface. The watch is, animated by a high-frequency ETA 2892 caliber that ensures 42 hours power reserve, and moreover it is secured to the wrist by a black sporty strap manufactured either from rubber, heavy-duty synthetic fabric or more stylish genuine leather strap.
